Our First Crowdfunding Campaign

WHFS (Women's Health & Family Services) made our first foray into Crowdfunding recently, launching at our annual event in October 2015.   After raising £3,200 in total (£1,475 via the Crowdfunding site and a further £1,725 offline) our campaign came to a close in early December.

Thank you to everyone who donated, but we would particularly like to thank Zainab Yasin from Redbridge, who raised an impressive £1,250 by completing a sky jump!

WHFS's work is fundamental to ensuring the health and wellbeing of many of the diverse communities in Tower Hamlets.  With recent cuts to government funding, donations from local businesses and individuals make a significant contribution in enabling us to continue our vital work.

We're currently reviewing our campaign to see how we can improve our support and are planning a follow-up with Crowdfunding in early 2016.  We'd love to hear your ideas on ways to raise funds, especially if you're one of our fantastic team of volunteers or benefit from one of our projects, as we're keen to involve the wider WHFS family in helping to sustain our work.  We don't expect everyone to engage in daredevil antics like skydiving, but plans by some of our supporters to hold "home-bake-cake" sales have proved very successful (and delicious) in the past.
