WHFS (Women’s Health & Family Services) is a multi-cultural community health charity based in Tower Hamlets that focuses on health and empowerment issues for disadvantaged women and their families.
Established in 1981, we work primarily (although not only) with Bangladeshi, Somali, Chinese and Vietnamese communities and, latterly, the eastern European and white communities. It is WHFS’s policy to actively recruit and train our staff, volunteers and Trustees from these local communities. This ensures that our people are sensitive and responsive to both community and individual needs and are well placed to deliver support.
We benefit enormously from a strong and dedicated team of staff and volunteers, all of whom play vital roles in empowering women and enabling them and their families to lead healthy lives. Each member of our team makes a unique contribution which we will continue to value and celebrate.
