The Advocacy Link project has been completed and is now closed. This page is for information only.Advocacy Link was a WHFS (Women's Health & Family Services) social enterprise that ran from 2009 to 2013, which provided an immediate advocacy service for any agency across Tower Hamlets and in neighbouring boroughs. The bilingual advocates were a trained and experienced team who mainly lived locally and consequently had an understanding of the health, cultural and social needs of their communities.

Bilingual health advocates provided language support and worked to educate and empower their clients through health advice, health education sessions (such as management of long term conditions, screening, antenatal and sexual health advice). The advocates were also professionally trained in research techniques, including one-to-one interviewing, focus groups, transcription and translation.
